New on Netflix Naija this week: Omar Sy’s Lupin is back on Friday, 23 October, two days after Chris Pratt’s The Terminal List season 2 landed on Prime Video and a day after Kristen Bell and Adam Brody returned in Nobody Wants This.
Ten titles made the cut. One is a Yoruba epic that took Nigerian cinemas last November and now streams at home, and one is a South African car-spinning drama on DStv.
We also checked what Nigerians were actually watching last week, using Netflix’s own Nigeria chart. A Nollywood comedy from last December is still sitting at No 2.
What are the best new shows and movies to stream in Nigeria this week?
Lupin Part 4 is the big one, with all eight episodes on Netflix from Friday, 23 October. This is an editorial ranking by GistMatrix, not an official chart. We ranked on how new each title is, how much talk it is getting in Nigeria and whether you can watch it here.
1. Lupin (Part 4, Netflix series)
Assane Diop is in prison, and someone else is stealing in his name. Part 4 is set four years after Part 3: a copycat calling himself Lupin pulls off simultaneous museum heists and the police pin them on Assane, who has to break out to clear his name. Omar Sy leads all eight episodes. It ranks first because it is the most anticipated return of the month and the whole season drops at once. Where: Netflix, Friday, 23 October.
2. Nobody Wants This (season 3, Netflix series)
The rabbi and the podcaster are moving in together. Kristen Bell’s Joanne and Adam Brody’s Noah start building a home after recommitting at the end of season 2, while Sasha and Esther are pushed back into dating. Netflix set the date in September, and What Kept Me Up lists 10 episodes. Where: Netflix, Thursday, 22 October.
3. The Terminal List (season 2, Prime Video series)
Chris Pratt’s James Reece gets a pardon and a new mission. The season adapts Jack Carr’s second novel, True Believer, and sends the former Navy SEAL back to work with the SEALs and the CIA. Amazon released all eight episodes at once on Wednesday, 21 October, in more than 240 countries and territories. Where: Prime Video, out now.

4. Warlord: Olori Ogun (Nollywood movie, Kava)
Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola, Toyin Abraham and Muyiwa Ademola in one Yoruba epic. A tyrant rules through slavery and a supernatural force until a challenger rises to take back his freedom. Odunlade Adekola, Tope Adebayo and Adebayo Tijani directed it, and it opened in cinemas on 28 November 2025. It is our top Nigerian pick because cinema audiences got it first and now everyone else can catch up. Where: Kava, from Thursday, 22 October, according to What Kept Me Up.
5. The New Stanford Prison Experiment (Netflix reality series)
Thirty volunteers, one real prison, two weeks. Participants are randomly made guards or prisoners, in a rerun of the notorious 1971 psychology study, and the show follows what the roles do to them. Where: Netflix, Wednesday, 21 October.
6. Spinners (season 2, South African series, Africa Magic)
Ethan’s crew trade the Cape Flats for Johannesburg. Success on the car-spinning scene brings new money and new enemies, then an ambush tied to Ethan’s old gang drags him into a war between crime syndicates. Cantona James returns across eight episodes. Where: Africa Magic Showcase (DStv channel 151), 10pm WAT on Sunday, 25 October, according to DStv.
7. Animals (movie, Netflix)
Nigeria’s No 1 Netflix movie last week. Ben Affleck directs and stars as a Los Angeles mayoral candidate whose son is kidnapped, with Kerry Washington, Gillian Anderson and Steven Yeun. It is in because Nigerians are already watching it: second week in the country’s top 10. Where: Netflix, out now.
8. Below (limited series, Netflix)
Something in the sea is attacking a Newfoundland town. Josh Hartnett, Mackenzie Davis and Charlie Heaton lead the six-part creature mystery, which was the No 1 show on Netflix in Nigeria from 12 to 18 October. Where: Netflix, out now.
9. Did Someone Happen to Mention Me? (Japanese series, Netflix)
A famous actor comes home and nobody remembers him. Koji Yakusho plays Gen Takasegawa, back in Japan after a London stage career, who has to start again at auditions and on film sets. It is the oddball pick of the week. Where: Netflix, Thursday, 22 October.
10. The One About Matthew Perry (Netflix docuseries)
The story behind Chandler Bing, told by his sister. The three-part series features Mia Perry Bowick, friends and collaborators, and unreleased photos and videos from the Perry family archive, including his long fight with addiction. Variety reported the date in September. Where: Netflix, Tuesday, 27 October.
What are Nigerians already watching on Netflix?
Animals and Below topped Netflix’s own Nigeria charts for the week of 12 to 18 October. When GistMatrix checked the Netflix Top 10 page for Nigeria at about 11:25am WAT on Wednesday, 21 October, Toyin Abraham’s Oversabi Aunty was No 2 among movies, in its third week on the list, between Animals and Tyler Perry’s Doing Life.
That is a cinema comedy from December 2025 holding its own against a brand-new Ben Affleck thriller. The South African sequel Seriously Single Too came in at No 6 in its first week.
On the shows chart, East of Eden, an earlier No 1 pick of ours, was No 4 in its third week. The Diplomat season 4, last week’s No 1 pick, entered at No 9. It had only four days on the service in that chart week, since it launched on Thursday, 15 October.
Can you still watch Showmax in Nigeria?
No. Showmax shut down on 30 April 2026, so this list has no Showmax picks. African series such as Spinners now reach Nigerian viewers through DStv channels like Africa Magic Showcase, while new Nollywood titles are increasingly going to Netflix and to Kava, the Nigerian streaming service backed by Nollywood names.
What happens next
Nobody Wants This season 3 and Warlord: Olori Ogun arrived on Thursday, 22 October, and Lupin Part 4 follows on Friday, 23 October. Spinners season 2 premieres on Africa Magic Showcase at 10pm WAT on Sunday, 25 October, and The One About Matthew Perry lands on Netflix on Tuesday, 27 October. Our next Streaming Countdown is on Wednesday, 28 October.
