The gist in 30 seconds
- Marvel Television's VisionQuest, the eight-episode sequel to WandaVision, premieres with two episodes on Disney+ on Wednesday, 14 October 2026.
- Paul Bettany returns as Vision in VisionQuest, and James Spader appears on screen as Ultron after only voicing the villain in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).
- Disney+ does not operate in Nigeria: a GistMatrix check from Lagos on 13 October 2026 showed its "not available in your region" page.
Five years after WandaVision turned Marvel grief into a sitcom, Vision gets the last word. VisionQuest, the series that closes that Disney+ trilogy, starts streaming on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, with two episodes.
Critics have already seen all eight. TheWrap, which reviewed the full season on Monday, 12 October, called Paul Bettany “electric” as Vision and singled out James Spader, finally on screen as Ultron.
For fans in Nigeria there is a catch, and it has nothing to do with the plot.
When is VisionQuest coming out?
VisionQuest premieres on Disney+ on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, with episodes 1 and 2, according to Marvel Entertainment’s official promo on YouTube. The season runs to eight episodes. Terry Matalas, who ran Star Trek: Picard, is the showrunner and also directs.
Entertainment sites list the rest as weekly Wednesday drops ending on 11 November, but GistMatrix could not find a full schedule published by Disney itself as of 2:40pm WAT on Tuesday, 13 October.
Who is in the cast of VisionQuest?
Paul Bettany leads as the rebuilt Vision, the version S.W.O.R.D. made without his old memories. James Spader plays Ultron, now a voice living inside Vision’s head who appears in human form there. Ruaridh Mollica plays Tommy Maximoff, the teenager carrying the soul of Wanda and Vision’s son.
Stark’s old AI systems turn up as people too: Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y. and James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S. T’Nia Miller plays Jocasta and Todd Stashwick plays Paladin. According to TheWrap’s review, the series opens with Vision quietly working behind the bar of the Scottish pub he and Wanda once visited.

How did we get here?
1 May 2015: Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in US cinemas. Spader voices Ultron and Bettany first appears as Vision.
27 April 2018: Thanos kills Vision in Avengers: Infinity War.
15 January 2021: WandaVision premieres on Disney+, ending with a second, white Vision flying away.
May 2024: Matalas takes over the Vision series from Jac Schaeffer, who led the first two shows.
18 September 2024: Agatha All Along premieres, bringing in Wanda’s son Billy.
1 October 2026: Marvel releases the full trailer. It had 21.9 million YouTube views at 2:40pm WAT on 13 October.
Disney+ has billed the show as the final part of the trilogy, though Matalas has called it more of a direct sequel to WandaVision, and Bettany has said it sets Vision up for future Marvel appearances.
Can you watch VisionQuest in Nigeria?
Not through Disney+ in Nigeria, as of Tuesday, 13 October. When GistMatrix opened disneyplus.com from a Lagos connection at about 2:35pm WAT that day, the site redirected to a page saying “Disney+ is not available in your region.”
GistMatrix found no announcement of a Nigerian TV or streaming partner for VisionQuest. The official trailer is free to watch on Marvel Entertainment’s YouTube channel in Nigeria, and it heads this story.
