Ten days ago, people were asking where Funke Akindele was. On Wednesday, 30 September, she turned up in a skit with Kamo State, and the Instagram reel had passed 100,000 likes within six hours.
The joint post, shared at about 9:40am WAT on the verified accounts of skit maker Akinyoola Ayoola, known as Kamo State, and actress-filmmaker Funke Akindele, promotes Starlomo, his first cinema release, which opened nationwide on Friday, 25 September.
Kamo State captioned it “Some useful tips from the Blueprint Herself! God bless you iyami”, with a line saying Starlomo is showing in cinemas across the country. Legit.ng described the clip as a playful sparring skit, with both of them in Starlomo shirts.
Why were people talking about a Funke Akindele and Kamo State rift?
The rift talk came from absence, not from anything either of them said. Funke Akindele was not at the Lagos premiere of Starlomo on Sunday, 20 September, and fans and blogs read that as a sign of trouble between the actress and the skit maker she has worked with for years, Legit.ng reported.
Kamo State had already denied a fallout in July. He told BBC Yoruba, according to Nigerian Tribune on 29 July 2026, that the two of them were “still together, even closer”, and that she was busy with her December project. He has worked with her on Aiyetoro Town and Behind the Scenes, the Tribune said.

Tuesday, 29 September: he posts photos of the two of them captioned “Mother & Son”.
Wednesday, 30 September: the joint skit goes up at about 9:40am WAT.
