Police in the Federal Capital Territory have arrested a woman and two guest house workers over the death of a man whose body was dumped under Katampe Bridge in Abuja, Daily Trust and Legit.ng reported.
FCT Police Commissioner Ahmed Sanusi announced the arrests at a press conference on Saturday, 26 September. He said the investigation began after the man’s family reported him missing. Detectives found his phone missing and traced his last communication to a married woman. Police said technical investigations established her as the last person to contact him.
According to police, the two lodged at Good Samaritan Guest House, Second Avenue, Gwarinpa, in late August. Police allege the woman found him no longer breathing, took his phone and left without reporting it. Hotel staff later opened the room after the occupants failed to check out. Police allege two staff members then removed the body and dumped it along the Kubwa Expressway, Katampe Bridge area, instead of alerting authorities. The body was found under Katampe Bridge on 26 August, Daily Trust and Legit.ng reported.
The woman was traced and arrested, and her statement led detectives to the hotel and the two staff members. Police stressed that the cause and circumstances of the death remain under investigation, and these are allegations, not court findings.
