Druski set to host SNL on 7 November, a first for creators

In October 2017, Druski was posting comedy clips on Instagram. On Saturday, 7 November 2026, he will host Saturday Night Live.

Comedian Drew Desbordes, known as Druski, will host the 7 November episode of the NBC sketch show, Variety reported on Tuesday, 13 October. The Druski SNL booking makes him the first online content creator to front the show in its 51 years.

Variety said it confirmed the booking with several sources. TheWrap, which carried the story at about 3:55pm WAT, credited Puck with the first report. As of 5:45pm WAT, NBC had not announced it, SNL’s representatives had not answered Variety, and Druski’s representative declined to comment.

SNL has hired cast members who grew their audiences on social media, but never a host who came up that way, TheWrap noted. The nearest case was reality star Kim Kardashian, who hosted in October 2021.

Who is Druski, the comic hosting SNL?

Druski is a 32-year-old sketch comedian whose characters spread on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. TheWrap lists the best known: Kyle Rogger, his “frat bro” character, plus a ruthless record-label boss and a run of mega-church pastors. One of his church sketches passed 70 million views.

He has also turned up in music videos for Drake, Lil Yachty and Jack Harlow, and opened shows for Harlow. Forbes put him at No. 9 on its 2025 top creators list, with estimated earnings of $14 million that year.

How did Druski get from Instagram skits to SNL?

GistMatrix put together the steps from Variety, TheWrap and the Associated Press:

• October 2017: starts posting comedy videos on Instagram.
• 2021: creates Coulda Been Records, a joke label built around artists performing on his Instagram Lives.
• March 2023: headlines the Coulda Woulda Shoulda comedy tour.
• Autumn 2024: Coulda Fest, a comedy and music festival, sells out; it grows into an arena tour in 2025.
• 2025: becomes the first comedian on the cover of Billboard’s No. 1s issue, according to AP.
• 30 April 2026: BET names him host of the 25th BET Awards, the youngest in the show’s history, ahead of Kevin Hart in 2011.
• 28 June 2026: hosts the BET Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
• 13 October 2026: the SNL booking is reported.

That is under nine years from first upload to Studio 8H. He gets there after an October run of hosts that included New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, actress Dakota Johnson and comedian Shane Gillis.

Why is NBC turning to internet stars?

Druski’s booking follows a run of creator appearances on NBC’s late-night shows, TheWrap noted. Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, made his Tonight Show debut in February, and creators Jake Shane and Brittany Broski have sat on the couches of Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers.

For Nigerian viewers the pattern looks familiar. Plenty of the country’s best-known comedians also started with phone-shot skits on Instagram before moving into films, stages and brand deals.

How can you watch Druski on SNL in Nigeria?

SNL goes out live at 11:30pm Eastern Time. The US moves its clocks back on 1 November, so the 7 November show starts at 5:30am WAT on Sunday, 8 November. In the US it also streams on Peacock, which is not sold directly in Nigeria, and Nigerian availability of the full episode is not confirmed. The show usually posts its sketches on its official YouTube channel after broadcast.

What happens next

Druski hosts on Saturday, 7 November. As of 5:45pm WAT on 13 October, NBC had not confirmed the booking or named his musical guest. GistMatrix will update this story when it does.
