Burna Boy will co-host AfroBank FM, an African music station in Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar Games revealed on Thursday, 8 October 2026. The Nigerian singer shares the station with DJ Palms Trax, and the pair appear in the game as “Burna” and “Palmsy”, according to the official Grand Theft Auto VI music page and reports by Complex and Kotaku.

AfroBank FM is one of six in-game radio stations Rockstar previewed six weeks before the game’s release on Thursday, 19 November 2026. The other hosts include Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey and Morgan Wallen, Complex reported.

Radio stations have long been a signature of Grand Theft Auto, playing whenever a player gets behind the wheel. A Nigerian star hosting his own station puts African music, from old classics to amapiano, in front of the huge audience waiting for a game that arrives 13 years after Grand Theft Auto V, as The Fader noted.

What will AfroBank FM play?

Rockstar sums up the station in two short lines on its music page: “Amapiano, African classics, 3-step, and more from Burna and Palmsy. Turn up the gbedu.” Gbedu is Naija slang for a good, hard-hitting beat.

Game Informer, which listened to the station’s preview, reported hearing three songs: Asake’s “Joha”, “Gye Wani” by Pat Thomas featuring Ebo Taylor, and “Shay’sana” by DJ Lag and Robot Boii featuring Kamo Mphela.

The hosts helped to curate the music on each station, Kotaku reported. The previews on Rockstar’s site run for about one to three minutes each and include snippets of the hosts as well as the songs, according to Game Informer.

Who else is on the radio?

Complex listed the other five stations and their hosts:

  • Cocoteo FM: Latin music, hosted by Bad Bunny and RaiNao.
  • Back Country Radio: country, hosted by Morgan Wallen and Lana Del Rey.
  • The Chamber 106.6: heavy metal, hosted by Kerry King and Tom Araya of Slayer.
  • Flash FM: pop, hosted by Robyn and the model Alex Consani.
  • Dirty South Classics: Miami hip-hop classics, hosted by Trick Daddy and Trina.

Rockstar says more stations are on the way, with formats including classic rock, blues, electronic and talk radio, according to Complex.

What else is new about the radio?

Players will also be able to listen away from their cars. The game will have on-demand podcasts, with radio and podcasts available “in vehicles or on foot through newly introduced headphones and earbuds connected to their smartphones”, Rockstar said, as quoted by Game Informer. Complex said the podcasts are a first for the series.

There is also a companion record, Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, a 34-song release from Rockstar Games and Atlantic Records that was announced in September, Complex reported. Rockstar’s music page lists the album as coming on 19 November.

What happens next

Grand Theft Auto VI launches on Thursday, 19 November 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, according to Game Informer and Gematsu. Until then, fans can hear short previews of AfroBank FM and the other five stations on Rockstar’s website.

Watch for Rockstar to reveal its remaining stations, and for word from Burna Boy himself: Complex and DancehallMag carried no comment from the singer on the role.
