Tickets for Fury vs Joshua, the heavyweight fight between British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, sold out within an hour of going on sale at midday UK time on Friday, 9 October 2026, Reuters reported, citing British media. About 80,000 tickets were on sale for the bout at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on Friday, 11 December, according to the Reuters report carried by Business Recorder.
More than 500,000 fans were reported to be in the online queue within minutes of sales opening, Reuters said. Boxing Insider and Blueprint, both citing BBC Sport, also reported the one-hour sell-out.
The pair have been linked for almost a decade, since both were at the top of the heavyweight division, and two earlier plans for the fight collapsed, Arise News reported. Nigerian fans will not need a pay-per-view to watch it: Netflix says the fight will stream live to all its members worldwide at no extra cost.
How much did tickets cost?
Prices ranged from £88.50 to £13,128, including booking fees, the BBC reported, according to Reuters. Some seats soon appeared on resale sites, with ringside VIP seats listed at £73,645, according to Boxing Insider and Blueprint, which cited the BBC. Those are asking prices, not confirmed sales.
What time will the fight start?
The card is on Friday, 11 December, but the ring walks are expected at around 1am UK time on Saturday, 12 December, Reuters reported. That would be about 2am in Nigeria. An application submitted to Cardiff City Council would keep the stadium open until 3.30am, according to Reuters.
Netflix says it will confirm the start time later.
What did Fury and Joshua say?
“Ten years in the making,” Joshua said at the launch press conference in London on Wednesday, 30 September, according to the Associated Press. “We’re here now … it had to happen at some stage and there’s no better time than now.”
“I know in pubs, people have had proper fights about who’s going to win between me and Tyson,” he said.
Fury, 38, kept the mood light. “I hope that after this fight we can have a pint of Guinness together. Win, lose or draw,” he said, the AP reported.
Where do both men stand?
Netflix lists Joshua’s record as 30 wins and four defeats, with 27 knockouts, and Fury’s as 36 wins, two defeats and one draw, with 25 knockouts. Joshua knocked out YouTuber Jake Paul in December 2025, and Fury beat Arslanbek Makhmudov by unanimous decision in April 2026, according to Netflix.
Joshua, who turns 37 this month, has fought twice since losing an IBF world title fight to Daniel Dubois in 2024, against Paul and Kristian Prenga, the AP reported. He stopped Prenga in the second round in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in July 2026, according to Arise News.
Joshua knows the venue well. He beat Carlos Takam there in 2017 and Joseph Parker in 2018, Yahoo Sports noted.
What happens next
The undercard has not been announced, and Netflix says it will be named later. The event is presented by Turki Alalshikh’s The Ring and Dana White, according to Netflix, and Matchroom Boxing lists the date as Friday, 11 December 2026.
Watch for the full card and a confirmed start time in the weeks ahead.
