- Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Pastor Foluke Adeboye watched all of Agbara Nla: The Return with the film's team on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, co-director Damilola Mike-Bamiloye said.
- Damilola's Instagram post says the Adeboyes hosted the team; it names no cinema, despite a blog headline saying the couple stormed one.
- Agbara Nla: The Return had taken ₦282.8m by Sunday, 11 October 2026, after a ₦73.3m second weekend, according to Film Intelligence, and Cinephiles.ng listed 321 upcoming showtimes in 25 Nigerian cinemas on Monday, 12 October 2026.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), and his wife, Pastor Foluke Adeboye, watched Agbara Nla: The Return from start to finish with the film’s team, co-director Damilola Mike-Bamiloye said on Instagram late on Thursday, 8 October 2026.
The viewing took place the day before, on Wednesday, 7 October. In his post, Damilola said the couple “graciously hosted us and watched the entire 2½-hour AGBARANLA movie from beginning to end”. Legit.ng reported that a separate photo showed Pastor Adeboye praying over the cast and crew afterwards.
For a remake of a 1993 Christian classic that has already broken Nollywood’s record for a non-December opening, it is a public nod from one of Nigeria’s best-known church leaders, and it came two days before the film’s second weekend in cinemas, Friday, 9 October, to Sunday, 11 October.
Did Pastor Adeboye watch Agbara Nla in a cinema?
Nothing the film’s team has posted says so. Damilola’s caption says the Adeboyes hosted the team, and it does not name a cinema or any venue. One blog headline on Friday morning said the couple had “stormed” a cinema; nothing in the original post supports that.
The caption also thanks Pastors Oluwagbemileke and Titilope Adeboye for welcoming the team and Adeola Abolaji for technical help. Nothing in it describes a public screening. The caption closes by urging people to keep watching the film in cinemas and credits Mount Zion Film Productions, CIRCUITS, SOZO Films and Nile Entertainment.
